Kid Blue
(Fat!, Lot49, U & A, Passenger, Sinister, Technique)
London, UK

_ As founder and resident DJ of the legendary Technique in Leeds, for the past five years Kid Blue has been forging a reputation as one of the best resident DJs in the UK. Moving to London in early 2006, he quickly landed a residency at Chew The Fat! and is now rocking the capital on a monthly basis, as well as returning to Leeds once a month to his 'spiritual home' at Technique. His productions are also starting to gain him numerous fans, with tracks on Lot49, Fat! and Passenger picking up support from James Zabiela, Hybrid, Laurent Garnier and Pete Tong to name a few.

_ Starting out clubbing in his native Birmingham, the Kid quickly picked up on a whole range of music, being a regular at the city's house and techno clubs listening to Andrew Weatherall and Justin Robertson, as well as taking in the sounds at Nu-Tonic, Brum's legendary breaks and beats night where he first heard DJs such as Adam Freeland. It's no surprise then that his sound is a melting pot of all these influences, when you hear him play you are as likely to hear Funk D'Void as you are Koma and Bones, Anthony Rother or D Ramirez.

_ Arriving in Leeds in 1997 to go to university, he quickly started putting on warehouse parties with mates. These proved so popular they turned into Technique, which has gone on to host parties in Barcelona, Tokyo and London. He has DJd alongside some of the biggest names in electronic music - Derrick May, Adam Freeland, Michael Mayer, Mr Scruff, Plump DJs and Richie Hawtin to name a few. Guest slots at clubs such as Tribal Sessions, Hum, Playtime, Platform 12, Urban Gorilla and Tangled in the UK, have been accompanied by a growing reputation abroad – he has played in Hungary, Dubai, the USA, Spain, Germany, Georgia and even Malawi in the past twelve months.

_ With collaborations with Fat! label mate Merka in the pipeline, more remixes for a variety of labels and solo work due for release on Fat in 2008, as well as his continuing residencies at Chew The Fat! and Technique, Kid Blue’s reputation as one of the most exciting acts around continues to grow.

"Kid Blue sways between house, breaks and techno in an intelligent and considered way... He gives the crowd exactly what is needed to satiate their expectation of the night."
DJ Magazine

"Kid Blue never fails to impress. As is the case with all the best DJs, he's able to draw on a real range of genres, and unlike many DJs out there he knows exactly how to construct the right set for the right time of night."

Rhines
(Ninjaskillz, DJ Culture, ReVents, Innerflight)
Los Angeles / OC

_ From the early years of house parties at the Compound, to club gigs in and around Orange County and the Los Angeles area, to outdoor events all over Southern California and Mexico, and bookings in some of the best venues Los Angeles has, Rhines has honed a technique and style that is all his own.  Playing prime selections of Progressive, Electro, Tech, House and Breaks, his style is difficult to pin down, as his sets tend to defy the idea of genres, incorporating multiple styles into a fluid, cohesive mixed set that becomes something new every time. A love for rhythm and syncopation, movement and energy, and that deep, dark and dirty bass has always been the driving force behind his mixing, programming, and track selection.

_ Mainly playing alongside his DJ partner, JP, the tag team dynamic duo have annihilated every dance floor put in front of them, continually taking their sets to the next level. They have won the love, devotion, and support of many fans all over the area. Known for their spontaneous, energy infused, and heavily effected sets, the tag-team combo of JP & Rhines make each track they drop their own. Break the Beat or Four to the Floor... these two are highly skilled in the art of cutting the edge, and are tapping into new dimensions of aural satisfaction with their infectious sound.

_ With affiliations and ongoing collaboration with Innerflight Music, Ninjaskillz Music, DJ Culture, and a few others, Rhines has cemented a solid foundation for throwing collaborative events and underground parties.  He is always moving forward, listening and looking into the future, with no end in sight, as his DJ career is undeniably heading toward bigger and better things with every appearance.

Brian Thomas
(Ninjaskillz, Monism, ReVents)
Los Angeles / OC

_ Brian Thomas Lee, better known locally as Brian Thomas, has been spending the last decade of his life dedicated to our beloved scene of Electronic Music. Brian realized his love for EDM at an early age of 13 and by 14 his passion forced him to buy his first pair of turntables. From day one Brian found that he loved the integration of different genres, and the fusing of turntablism in the world of Dance Music.

_ Over the next 4 years Brian spent hours every day fine tuning his skills, and began getting regular play at several clubs and parties around the New England area. One Year later Brian made one of the most crucial choices of his life, relocating back to his birthplace of Orange County, California. Upon arrival Brian realized he was living 10 minutes from the local record shop, DJ Culture. After a year of frequenting the store, Brian was offered a position of Sales Rep.

_ Brian spent the next 3 years having first sight of every record to come through the doors of DJ Culture, thus developing a remarkable knowledge for all types of Dance Music. This is when Brian really began to find a style he could call his own. Through his fluid blend of Tech-Funk, Breaks, Acid Tech-House, Minimal and Turntablism Brian began to rock parties all over So-Cal. Brian's High Energy, Multi Genre Filled sets began to turn heads and thus earning him spots playing alongside such acts as Simply Jeff, Doc Martin, Nigel Richards Charles Feelgood, and Q-Burns Abstract Message to name a few.

_ Now still only 24, Brian is applying his extensive knowledge of the scene into event and music production. Brian has been in the studio for the past two years polishing his tracks, and has recently signed his first release "The Drop" to Monism Music. On the event production side, Brian is co-creator of the ReVents crew, which is dedicated to "Re-Defining" Orange County nightlife.

"We are creating a vibe where all different types of music can co-exist, and a place where our diverse crowd can call home."

JP
(Ninjaskillz, Lucent Dossier)
Los Angeles / OC

_ In 2003, JP and his friend Rhines started throwing small little parties at their home, affectionately known as "The Compound". As time went on more and more people caught wind of the underground after hours house, and with the help of Jason Blakemore became infamous. He found himself playing along side DJ's like John Kelley, DJ Trance and Simply Jeff. Many local DJ's, that are playing the party, were a huge part of the success of The Compound.

_ Detroit Bar would be where the party started and The Compound is where it ended. The magnitude of the parties could only be measured by the people who were there. In 2005 JP and Rhines first played Detroit Bar, and it has been home ever since to them. They bring the energy of the compound to the dance floor every where they go, but home is where the heart is!

Joplin
(Pork & Beats)
Los Angeles

_ I remember the moment. I watched the DJ on stage and melted into the energy of the room. He had me gripped in the palm of his hands. With each track, the crowd was ready to explode and it was at that moment I knew I needed to connect with people through music. After that night I began my journey to make that happen. Be it Jazz, Classical, Blues or Techno there was always one thing I found in common, and that was my love of the beat.

_ My first gig out was a total fluke but what it taught me was discipline. It forced me to learn what ever I needed to be in front of a crowd and make it work. To this day, 9 years later, I still get butterflies, until the second that the needle touches the first track, at which point all fear disappears. From that moment, when I see a record in my bag, I just KNOW its supposed to be next (is it the polka dots on the album cover?) or I know that it should be the last track of the night, or that it would be PERFECT three tracks from now. It's instinctive. And I am not always right, but that's ok. It's genuine and it's fundamental. All you have to do is trust that.

Cirel
(The Hump, Lucky Strike)
OC / Los Angeles

_ As Resident Dj at Lucky Strike Lanes in Orange I have learned what people like to hear. Sometimes this disappoints me, but when I started fusing together the things I like about music with the things that mainstream music buyers eat up, I found myself laughing. I find humor in the fact that It is fairly easy to exploit pop culture by using pop culture itself as a weapon.

_ Expect the unexpected when you hear me. I play for the Ignorant as well as the educated. I am influenced by the swindle mentality invented by punk bands in the late seventies. But mix that state of mind with the one that prefers eclectic electric music and you get Cirel.

_ Back in the day I started a weekly in long beach known as "The Hump". I felt like I had to do it, I felt like I was supposed to do it. In present times I look back at the night and reminisce. It makes me happy that I was able to bring together old friends and meet new ones.
